How it works
Hyaluronic-acid is a non-animal, biodegradable, non-allergenic product, which occurs as anatural component of connective tissue in our skin and all other organs. it is used for filling of volume-defects such as folds, wrinkles, contour-loss and depressed scars. mimic wrinkles on the other hand are better treated with Botox or combinations of both. Hyauronic-acid is water clear and has the texture of our own skin. Therefore the treated site feels absolutely natural.  Fine wrinkles need a different hyaluronic-acid than more pronounced wrinkles. When contours are to be treated yet another product is used. Depending on the viscosity of the filler the effect lasts from three months to one year.

The procedure
Filling with hyaluronic-acid products is an out-patient procedure. We photographically document before and after the treatment. The filler is injected by our experienced team of physicians, either with a fine needle, or, more recently, with small canulas didrectly into the connective tissue of the skin underneath the wrinkles. Typical application areas are pronounced wrinkling in the entire facial areas. In addition, lip contours can also be specifically treated with hyaluronic acid. After the treatment the effects are instantly visible.

Recent developments
In some hyaluronic-acid products a local numbing substance has been incorporated. This results in even less pain during the procedure. To further elimante discomfort a local aneasthetic cream may be applied 1 hour before the treatment.

Until recently hyaluronic-acid products have been injected with the help of a needle. A new, blunt, flexible canula replaces the needle in some instances.. this seemingly small change makes a huge difference though: even less pain, less bruising and optimized results can be achieved in this way. 

Side effects and further information
Immediately after the treatment there may be slight redness and swelling at the injection sites, which usually disappear during the day and can easily be made up.Unmittelbar nach der Behandlung kann es zu leichten Rötungen und Schwellungen an den Einstichstellen kommen, welche im Normalfall im Tagesverlauf wieder abklingen und problemlos abgedeckt werden können. Bei grösserflächigen Behandlungen oder wenn Sie blutverdünnende Medikamente (z.B. Aspirin®) eingenommen haben können auch lokale Blutergüsse auftreten, die zwar unschön sind, aber von selber wieder vergehen. Sehr selten können sich an den behandelten Stellen kleine Knötchen bilden, die eine spezielle Behandlung benötigen.

Da es sich bei Hyaluronsäure um ein gentechnisch hergestelltes Produkt menschlichen Ursprungs handelt, sind keine Allergien bekannt.
