Permanent Make-Up Removal

The reason why people want to remove or correct a permanent make-up vary: Often the permanent make-up is not satisfactorily placed, because of asymmetry or discolouration. In some of these instances laser treatments can help. We recommend NOT to try and have the permanent make-up lightened-up with a skin coloured tattoo pigment. This is hardly ever satisfactory and prevents certain laser treatments from working. Actually, this procedure could worsen the outcome, because of so-called ink-darking of the pigment under the effect of certain lasers. Experience from others show that this darkened ink may not always be removable!

The skin reaction after a laser treatment with a pigment laser resembles the one you have experienced after tattooeing. It will be necessary to wear a dressing for a week.

Laserlight of pigment lasers break the ink particles into powder which is eliminated by specialised cells of our skin and transported into the corresponding lymph nodes. This needs time. Typically a series of treatments are needed, spread at least 8 weeks apart.
