Adolescent Acne

Almost all adolescents suffer from acne to some extent. Acne manifests itself through:

• oily skin
• Blackheads & whiteheads
• Inflammation
• Pus

In roughly 80% of adolescents acne resolves without further complication within two years. In 20% it remains after puberty and develops into adult acne.

Acne should be treated if it's disturbing, interferes with self-consciousness or if scars develop. Scars should be prevented because their treatment is complicated, of long duration and costly.
