Have you ever had Hyaluronic acid injections? Then you know: it's an unpleasant procedure. Local anaesthesia is not always an option. Often there is brusing involved.

Lately hyaluronic acid fillers  have been developed. They contain local anaesthetics for more comfort during injections. Also, connective tissue research has it that its cells which are poorly active due to ageing and UV-damage, produce more collagen fibers when stretched. So it seems likely that repeated filler-injections stretch these cells so that the intervals between injections are prolonged and the amount of filler needed is decreased. Hence, hyaluronic acid fillers are not jut a symptomatic treatment after all!

Who would have thought: a new injection technique remarkably improves not only the result, but is much less painful and produces far less bruising than the older injection technique with needles. We use more and more fillers with blunt, flexible canulas and not with needles.
